The unovan starters are a weird case in that i do like all three of them, but i prefer other pokemon of the same type in that same region For grass type, i prefer lilligant over serperior For fire type, i prefer darmanitan over emboar For water type, i prefer both seismitoad and carracosta over samurott.

Personally i think hoenn is the only region where every starter begins and ends on greatness for each starter while all the other regions only have either one standout, or one that really drags it down. In my opinion, gen 5 has the worst starters In other generations, i have difficulty deciding which starter to choose or i can rotate them with each subsequent playthrough Even for gens 2 and 8, i have at least 2 options to choose
But in generation 5 i only can stomach the oshawott line and even then that line isn't perfect. In terms of designs, i’m a big fan of gens 1 and 4
